Morecambe Bay Foodbank is an emergency foodbank which has been set up to provide emergency food and household supplies to people in crisis. We also work with other organisations in our area who might be able to give our clients advice or further help and, when necessary, we share what we have with other charities, if they are very short of provisions.
However to make it even shorter - staff and trustees always say "Let's do food first, and do it well".
As well as the Foodbank, we also run The Uniform Project which takes in and distributes donated and gently used school uniform to families who need it. The reason that we do this is because we were finding higher foodbank use in August, due to the cost of Uniform. So, the Uniform Project was a preventative measure to try and keep families from needing to use the foodbank. You can find out more about the Uniform Project here.
