What we do, is provide emergency food to people in crisis. However, our trustees and staff also have a strategic plan that they work to each year to ensure that we are always considering the surrounding circumstances (eg the economy, Coronavirus) and working together to provide the best possible service in response to local need. We must also guarantee that we can raise enough money in order to pay for our expenses. This includes directing funds to create a safe, and professional way of operating.
In 2021 our strategic planning has four strands as follows:
- Find a new home for the Foodbank, because we have been using Council buildings due to the pandemic
- Moving clients on - how we work with clients who come to use our service and make sure we can help them to find further support from other organisations if they need it
- Developing our staff - supporting staff by making sure they have what they need to operate, develop, learn and grow their skills
- Developing the trustee board - making sure our work as trustees is useful, impactful, targeted and responsible
